Professor
Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding
Faculty of Agriculture
Research Interest:    I am working on Brassica oil crops and vegetables, Tomato and Strawberry for their enrichment of quality and secondary metabolites. We perform embryo rescue after distant crosses among cultivated and wild relatives. In the succeeding back-cross population, we perform selection using HPLC data and PCR technique with specific markers. Besides, I am engaged with Chinese research group where we are trying to identify the candidate genes of point mutation imposed by EMS through map based cloning and bulk segregant analysis. We also do RNA-seq to profile the transcriptomes, siRNA, miRNA and predict the putative candidate genes toward biotic and abiotic stresses tolerance in rice, clubroot resistance in Brassica, and improved quality and shelf-life of tomato.
